Persian Gulf Special Event Station

“From the Heart of the Persian Gulf – A Voice of Culture, Peace, and Connection”

EVENT DETAILS

This is a nationwide cultural amateur radio event dedicated to honoring the Persian Gulf — one of the oldest and most historically significant maritime regions in the world.

We warmly invite all amateur radio operators worldwide to contact EP2PG and celebrate global communication, mutual understanding, and the beauty of this ancient region.

OPERATING PLAN

We will be active on SSB mode only, in the 10m, 20m, and 40m bands.

Our Iranian operators will be calling CQ throughout the day, and we’d be happy to make contact with you!

About The PERSIAN GULF

The Persian Gulf (خلیج فارس / Khalij-e Fars) has been known by this name for over 2,500 years in Greek, Roman, Islamic, and modern global records.

UN-recognized name: Persian Gulf

Referenced in ancient maps by Ptolemy, Strabo, al-Idrisi, and Ibn Battuta

Mentioned in official UN documents and the UNGEGN guidelines

Ancient Greek geographers coined the name 'Persian Gulf' because the Achaemenid Persian Empire controlled its entire coastline.

About Us

We are a group of Iranian amateur radio operators passionate about radio, education, and peaceful global exchange. This is not a political activity — it is a cultural and educational event under the national laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran and in full alignment with the spirit of amateur radio worldwide.
